|Recommended: YesIt’s nice but had flaws — I enjoyed living here up until this year when the ability to hear my neighbors so clearly became too much. It gets frustrating that the walls and ceiling’s are so paper thin so that you can hear everything. It is especially frustrating when people are inconsiderate and you can hear a party at 2 am on a Monday when people have to be up for work and classes and just want to sleep. I like the convenience to campus and it being fully furnished but it is pricey especially with the inconvenience of loudness, paying extra to park when it should be included as a resident, and other minor issues. I’ve lived here for 3.5 years and it was pretty great up until this year’s day now I just don’t have the patience to put up with some of the issues anymore or having my rent go up every year.

To address the pricing, we understand that our competitors may charge differently but what we offer that they don't are built-in utilities, student-related amenities, cable package, and fully furnished apartments. Our security system is a 24/7 on-site on-call process that is also a benefit of living here. You can always feel free to call our 24/7 on-call staff to address the noise. |Recommended: YesBest place to live in Dekalb — If you plan on going to NIU university plaza is the best housing option. Apartments are all well kept, maintenance always responds right away when you need anything worked on and as far as safety the night security guard makes sure everyone is following Covid guidelines as well as goes around all floors to make sure we’re all safe which is a big relief considering Dekalb isn’t the safest city.

|Recommended: YesIt's comfortable for a first apartment. — I like how much space I have in the apartment. There are a few problems with how some of the floors are constructed. The bathroom floors seem to have yellow stains. There are also some stains on the kitchen floor as well. I'm a little concerned to whether or not the place has been wiped down for COVID prevention. Some things were chipped or torn. I have loud neighbors, so I can hear what they are saying through the thin walls and doors. However, I'm used to it since I've dealt with thin walls before. The furnisher is pretty good and the kitchen is very nice. Overall, it's not perfect, but I think it's the best place I've lived in so far.

To address the cleaning situation, we can absolutely assure you that the room was cleaned with updated COVID-19 guidelines. Residue left on the floor of any used surface will be the normal wear and tear that is the by product of living in apartments. If the stains seems outrageous, or you feel unsafe in a room, please do not hesitate to call the front desk. Our maintenance team is an award-winning group that could easily help assist in questions about cleanliness, or someone at the front desk can answer any questions regarding sanitization. We take health and quality of life very seriously, as we must all work together to keep everyone safe in these times.
